A collection of digital models brought to life using the many processes of fabrication, CTC machines and more. I enjoy critical thinking, mathematical processes and implementation into the physical world for the mind feeds from coherent reality.

This project explores how computational geometry can be translated into physical form through a series of Rhino models developed with Grasshopper. Using plugins such as LunchBox, RhinoPolyhedra, and other tools from Food4Rhino, I generated geodesic domes with various icospheres, and other polyhedral structures by working with parametric systems. The forms built through node connections to subdivide for surface distribution of each model.

Using the SVGs and vector files produced from the pixels project, I made a laser cut “mould” to implement whilst creating my own paper with paper-pulp drawing processes. The laser-cut acrylic was subject to a weeks-long continuous layering sequence (water, paper-pulp). Truly merging the physical and digital concepts in a traditional sense.

In an attempt to recreate another biological spinal-like object with SVG to laser-cut paper fabrication process, I extensively researched architectural bridge designs and created a functioning form. Utilizing Illustrator (to) Rhino and tinkerCAD, this subject is in the process of becoming a kinetic sculpture activated with respective motors and microcontrollers.
